It all began with a doormat weaver.
Mr. Ayyub Ansari was a simple laborer in 1980, but he had ambitions and was not afraid to work hard to make them come true. With only one little loom at his disposal, he began weaving carpets by hand, and his business grew from there.
He now owns Universal Rugs, a carpeting business of 60,000 square feet. His son and grandson currently run it, and they are proud of their family's carpet industry tradition.
But it doesn't mean they can't achieve even more success! Universal Rugs launched Ayyub Rug Creation in 2018. This new company concentrates on hand-made carpets that are well-known throughout the world.
Universal Rugs is a family-owned business in India that specializes in hand-woven carpets. Mr.Ayyub Ansari, gradually grew his company, eventually employing over 1,000 people and selling around 20 lakh square feet of carpet every year. His son, Mr. Tanveer Ansari, and grandson, Mr. Mohammad Arshad Ansari, have subsequently taken over the business, which now sells carpets under the brands Universal Rugs and Ayyub Rug Creation.
The company's success can be attributed to its dedication to high-quality products—each piece is carefully planned and handcrafted, employing unique methods passed down through generations of weavers. Each work takes at least fifteen days to make, and the craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident.
